Wendy Higdon has been successfully managing her weight for the last 55 years. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist and she cares about people who struggle with their weight. The birth of the idea for the book, Change Your Mind, Change Your Body: How to Have Permanent Weight Loss Success for a More Confident and Happier You!  came from a friend who simply said, "Write what you're passionate about."

Her life has been a combination of many twisting paths, beginning with a degree in music from Michigan State University. Would you believe this girl from a small hometown (Romeo, MI) found herself working and living in war-torn Beirut. She had the time of her life living in Lebanon, Jordan, and England! Upon returning to the U.S. she worked at a courthouse, Hewlett-Packard as an administrative assistant, and at the headquarters of The Navigators, all in Colorado Springs, CO.

Wendy met her husband in Colorado Springs while he was stationed with the U.S. Air Force. After her oldest of four went off to college, she dusted off the books and returned to school to get her masters in counseling psychology. She is a certified coach and licensed marriage and family therapist, practicing in San Marcos, CA.

Her book was born from her personal struggles and her wealth of information and expertise as a therapist.

  • Enjoys reading, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, and baking (although she saves baking time for special occasions to avoid the collateral damage!)
